distractions


I’ve been quiet because we have all been derailed by this for the last two days.

Thankfully, I get to leave that headspace this afternoon when I get to help a handful of Creative Writing students begin the process of constructing their digital stories out of an assemblage of voices, images, and lived experiences.

    not really relevant to the subject of this post, but I thought you might like to know (if you don’t already & I think you might) but there is an auto/bio/doco/ on release in the USA called “Tarnation” which the filmmaker made on iMovie. I read about it on a blog, here’s the link:

  2. geez, it’s a small world. That’s one of my regular reads, that blog is – and yeah, I heard about that movie, thanks for the reminder. I seem to recall there’s a really interesting issue there in that it was virtually a zero-budget film made from old home video, but there is so much environmental media in it (TV, music) that the licensing fees required to get it actually distributed are ginormous. Getting rid of barriers to ‘production’ is one thing but the barriers to reaching a public are quite another…
